My Story.
Hello everyone, my name is Phylinese Brooks and welcome to my site! I am an actor, VO actor, writer, photographer, videographer, and just an overall creative. I am a proud Columbia College Chicago Alum. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Acting. I am from Freeport, Illinois, a small, Midwest town known as "The Pretzel City." Freeport got this name because my alma mater's mascot is a pretzel. Unique as it is, I hold my roots very close to me. I believe you should never forget where you came from. No matter where my life takes me, I will forever be a proud Pretzel.

My motivation.
Most people grow up with a normal childhood. But like many children, I had to grow up long before my years. At the age of 11, I became a caregiver to my bedridden single mother. Watching sickness fall on the woman that once carried me on her hip has been one of the most traumatic experiences I have endured in my lifetime. At the age of 18, I lost my best friend, therapist, nurse and Mother. Since the day I saw her heart stop, I pledged to carry on her legacy and make her proud. The grieving of my mother has inspired so much of my work.
